the length of the dress and shoes make it look a little too trampy for a morning birthday party, maybe go with some flats for a still polished yet more subdued look.

The dress is nice - cut and colour. Is it casual though - like cotton? If so, I would change the shoes to something more casual like a sandal. And go with a bigger purse to add more interest.

The dress over all is cute but I think you are accenting it in the wrong ways. I don\'t really like the shoes or bag. Maybe go for some classic black pumps and a more subtle clutch. To accent it I would add a chic necklace and a cute ring.

The dress is cute - but the heels and purse don\'t go with it. The heels are not appropirate for a morning birthday IMO. And it does look a little see-through?? Nude underwear is an easy fix though :)
