I like the idea of not combining too many patterns... How about a black tie?! (A skinny one?! Think British!)

color wise it\'s great!. i just don\'t like the white dots on the tie it sort of stands out too much. but it\'s fine altogether.

Too many patterns for this combination. Also, the tie is wide. You could go with a nice solid skinny charcoal tie with this shirt. Solid black would wash it out too much and gray would probably be more dull. Its the kind of tie that will go with a lot of different shirts.

I like the tie, and I like the shirt... Just not together. Wear a solid tie with that shirt and a solid shirt with that tie. Always remember that one pattern is best.

Yes it works because the tie pattern is dominant and the colors blend. Got a charcoal grey suit to go wit dat, maybe?
