Is this dress to sexy for my 28 year old son's church wedding and out door reception?

My mom wore a dress sort of like that to my wedding. She simply wore a sheer black shawl over her shoulders at the church ceremony. Then, at the reception, she didn\'t bother with the shawl.

Oh and just remember the day is about your son and daughter-in-law. If they are comfortable with your dress that\'s what matters most.

I really like it. However, (and speaking as a wedding planner), you might want to consider wearing a pashmina or a bolero jacket for the ceremony.

You are a beautiful woman, but my opinion is you are too heavy breasted to wear this. The rest of the dress is great for you, but too much is not covered or appears unsupported. And for a Church event, with your children there, definitely not.

First - you look fantastic!
Second - I work at a catholic perish in AZ so I constantly struggle with modesty and fashion and HOT weather. If I were you, I\'d find a lovely pashmina scarf to cover up a bit for the ceremony and take if off for the pictures and reception.

I agree with Heidi. If your son and future daughter in law are fine with it, then just have a shawl for the wedding and go have fun at the reception!
You look fantastic either way - can\'t believe you have a 28 yr old son!

Given the DIL comment, which I agree with, I wouldn\'t wear the dress. It is her day. Too much cleavage and back. Doesn\'t seem appropriate for the event to me, esp. as mother of the groom... (You do rock the dress, just not the right event for it)

I say go for it, hell if you have a 28 year old son and can pull that dress off as well as you do I say wear it daily! lol

It is a beautiful dress and I admire that you have a 28 yo son and can wear it...but I think you would detract from the bride. Everyone would be looking at and talking about you. I don\'t think you want that to happen. I think it is a bit much for the reception as well. That is a \"hunting\" dress.

This dress is gorgeous. And I think it\'s perfect for a wedding. Plus this color looks so good on you.

The dress is beautiful. I struggle with modesty at these events. You have a darling figure and can pull off anything! I say .. remember it\'s his day. I think I read that the mother of the bride might not approve. Usually the mother of the son submits to the mother of the bride for color et al. All that said, I say -- get some help with some \"extra support\", a pashmina or bolero for the...

beautiful dress but inappropriate. This dress is for a night out, not a day out. Wear what flatters you but covers you

This dress looks beautiful on you. Maybe consider having another dress or outfit for church ceremony or go with some type of cover-up for that part.

IT DOES NOT look bad on you, but its a bit tad revealing for a church wedding .. try to wear a shawl (maybe a gold/nude tone) during the service and lose it when you get to the party ;)

Black is not appropriate for a wedding, and this dress is way too \"sexy\" for that event. I would cover up more and wear a less morbid color.
It looks good for going out to something else though.

I think that this dress is really hot! HOWEVER, for your son\'s wedding, i think it is innapropriate, especially in a church. It is too revealing. FWIW you look amazing! Find something else to wear it to :)

You are very pretty but the dress looks kinda trashy and the cleavage is WAY too much for a wedding especially your son. Tone it down because it\'s their day not yours
