Go Try It On.
hi there! sign in?
lunch at my grandmother's country club filled with conservative elderly women. i just don't want to look too casual, but not too dressy either. i'm having a really hard time with this and hoped you could help! note: yes, the pants are a size too big, but i don't know what else to wear! (strict no denim policy but i figured i could get away with wearing white jeans since i've done it before.)

The severity of the bottom half being white and the top part a big block of BLACK is a ticket to snooze-ville. It may be your grandmother\'s country club function but you could use a jolt in this ensemble. Think of Ralph Lauren and Lilly Pilitzer - they have bright colors and very very WASPY country club. So keep the white pants, go for a bright colored twin set (cardigan/shell) or a Milly patterned...

I think it\'s good. The pants go with the conservative look you\'re aiming for.

Really, I think if you just changed the cardigan to one that had a bright pattern, you\'d look fine.

I would say, yes, you can get away with it, but why not try a cute summer dress next time, as long as its tasteful its appropriate. you could definitely get a nice one for the cost of a 3 piece look, not to mention be able to wear it again!

You could pair this top with a high waisted skirt ( something with a bright color, or a cream) Alteratively, these pants would also be cute with a checked button down, add
a thin brown belt and pearls... And you are country club ready.

Try tucking in the shirt with a belt to pull the outfit together a little bit.

you could be on the right track, pair it with a brown braided belt around the waste and a pair of cute heels. Put a different color tank under the cardigan (try yellow or Red). If you are young, dont try to dress too old...have fun!

this is boring, needs some colour on top. if you\'re insisting on this outfit, change that necklace to someting with some colour

I would go for a knee length skirt instead... or if you want to stay completely covered up, switch out the black cardigan for a lighter color.

Boring boring boring, and white jeans really tend to be unflattering. Try a pencil skirt, and maybe some heels.

You have a good figure--why so covered up and dark? At a minimum, change either the t-shirt or the cardigan for a brighter color. Or wear black pants with a colorful top.

How about just a pencil skirt paired with a button-down or cardigan? That would be a bit cuter but still very conservative. I really think the pants look too big on you.

Conservative doesn\'t necessarily mean you have to be covered from head to toe. It\'s more like you just need to be tasteful in what you wear. I agree that the black and white is too harsh of a contrast in this case. Maybe instead of these pants, you have a knee-length skirt? And a simple cardigan or something similar with 3/4-length sleeves would work just fine, since your shirt has a higher neckline...

wait! why should i change this?
- this doesn't do you justice
- there's too much going on
- it needs something else
- it's the wrong size
- it's not right for this event
