Casual work thing, lectures all day. Are these shoes better?

wait! why should i change this?
  • this doesn't do you justice

The zip-up makes this outfit look very young and very casual. I agree with the other commenters who say this is probably not polished enough for an event with colleagues. Have you asked around the office to see what other women will be wearing? And try asking people who are a level or two above you on the food chain.

you seem to like a zip up sweater. I like these shoes better than the others, but i would say buy a sweater or jacket that has some structure to it- its an instant way to take an outfit up a notch and make it look less casual while still being really comfortable. It is a great trick to add structured pieces to a casual look: make you look much more put together with really little effort

I\'m not sure what kind of work you do...I would go with a more polished jeans outfit for what you are describing. The outfit is fine for a casual weekend look (running errands, etc.)

I agree with everyone saying that it\'s too casual. I think the tee and hoodie are poor choices. If it is ok to wear jeans to this event, I would wear a blazer and top (a nice, not too fitted tee would be fine) and dress up the shoes a bit. A nice pointed toe will make you look sleeker and taller. Those jeans, by the way, look fabulous on you! Great cut and color.

like the grreen sweater outfit best, but this is my second choice... cant see the shoes, but they seem like flats...I would go with more of a boot with heel

I\'d caution to always remember that the first word in business casual is \"business\". You will never go wrong by stepping it up a little, even if no one else in your workplace does. What you wear today communicates a lot to the people who make key descisions about where you\'re headed. Don\'t let your clothing send a message that is too relaxed.

This is nice for classes and a college campus thing but maybe too casual for a work thing

Jeans may not be your best bet. Also, a cardigan might be better than a sweat jacket for this.

a V neck sweater or cardigan might be better for the occasion

It looks all right but just not for this kind of thing. The top needs be nicer. This looks like one you\'d wear on a Saturday afternoon at home.

a flowy sweater would keep the look very casual but take it up that extra bit... you just look very young in this zippered jacket not work appropriate.

even if it\'s casual, don\'t wear a sweatshirt. choose a long cardigan with a belt and skinny jeans and some cute flats.

I agree that this outfit isn\'t right for a work function, no matter how casual it is supposed to be. I do like these shoes a lot better than the other ones. To dress this up further I would switch to a darker wash jean and use a cardigan instead of a sweatshirt.

Not sure if a hoodie says work-appropriate. And the shoes could be more flattering if they were a wedge or similar.

sorry but the hoodie makes it look a little frumpy. i like the shoes, just swap the hoodie for maybe a structured jacket or a cute blouse

It\'s way to casual, try a cute high waisted skirt, and a plain colored top and fun scarf with flats
