I think this dress works, maybe add a belt? Something thin, even a black ribbon? I\'d go with nude pumps or wedges (if its still warm) in the fall, maybe black tights and black pumps

I think it looks really nice! You could do a lot with this. Maybe a colored belt. Not for the opera, but for another occasion you could even go leopard for a belt and/or shoes!

Yes, hard to see if there is any structure. I agree it needs some accent under the bust. Metallic pointy toe heel.
